Autumn may well be in full swing here in Perth, but that hasn’t stopped Subiaco from going full floral with the 2023 edition of their immersive Subi Blooms trail. Fourteen cute, quirky and colourful installations add unexpected flourishes along the main Rokeby Road strip, as well as two more on Bagot Road and one on Hay Street.
The event coincides with the Mother’s Day weekend here, and runs strictly from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 May. I decided to make the most of the good weather on the Friday and check it out for myself. Being a lover of flowers and urban art, I just knew it would be right up my alley – and it didn’t disappoint!
The beautifully crafted, dreamily styled displays have a distinctly soft and often vintage feel, showcasing the brilliant flower-arrangement skills of 13 local florists. Many even have seating options for anyone wanting to pose for a snap amidst the floral wonderland. They’re all certainly very instagrammable! Follow the trail for yourself with my photos below.
